Estcourt Arms
2 St Johns Road, Watford WD17 1PT
This is a traditional and unpretentious street-corner pub near to Watford Junction station and convenient for Clarendon Road and the town centre. Now opening normally after a period of irregular opening pre-lockdown. The pub is unusual in that it retains a small snug, although what is now the lounge was originally two smaller bars with a corridor in between.

Street corner pub in a terraced residential area off business-oriented Clarendon Road. The pub has a conservatory style dining area located adjacent to a decent sized patio. Small corner pub that was part of the Druid Pub Company but is now under new management. Has been recently redecorated to tidy it up, and has reverted to its old name. Has a large outside drinking area at the rear.
Horns
1 Hempstead Road, Watford WD17 3RL
Regular live music venue. Good to see a music venue selling real ales. There are three regular beers and a guest ale that changes every six weeks or so. The main nights for gigs are on Thursdays and Saturdays, but there is live music of some form every day. The music on Thursdays and Saturdays is usually from covers or tribute bands, but quite a few well known names play as well. To pay for the bands there is a variable entry charge on Thursday nights (depending on who's playing) and a 30p levy on drinks on Saturday nights. Entrance is free on other nights, when the music includes showcases for local bands, open mic nights, karaoke and disco. A guide to upcoming gigs at the pub is published on www.lemonrock.com, and you can keep up with events by following the Twitter account @hornswatford. Food is served most lunchtimes and families are welcome, but children must leave by 9pm. Sunday lunch is accompanied by live trad jazz from the Northside Jazz Band.
Colombia Press
72-74 The Parade, High Street, Watford WD17 1AW
A Lloyd's No. 1 bar whose name refers to a press used to print newspapers, including the first edition of the Watford Observer. A surprisingly relaxed oasis for the ale drinker during the day that becomes part of the Watford High Street bar scene in the evening. The pub has increased its real ale range and now has 10 handpumps with changing guest ales on each. In common with other Wetherspoon's sites it has a licence to sell from very early in the morning. Food is served all day. Families welcome until 8pm. No dogs except guide dogs.
Oddfellows Arms
14 Fearnley Street, Watford WD18 0RD
Single bar, back street pub. Well used by away supporters on football days
Market Tavern
28 Market Street, Watford WD18 0PD
Handpumps not currently being used. Long thin Freehouse on Market Street that had started selling Real Ale in the last few years. Focus on sports and has a pool table at the back.
Moon under Water
44 High Street, Watford WD17 2BS
High street Wetherspoons housed in the building that was once destined to be Watford's Metropolitan Line station (it was a tea room at the time). There are three distinct drinking areas within the pub and food is available throughout, although the rear of the pub is quieter. A patio can be found outside the back of the pub which serves as the modern day smoking area. Recent Wetherspoons' policy means that the pub is a rare outlet for real cider in the area. Weston's Old Rosie is available at all times, with a changing range of other ciders. The only dogs allowed are guide dogs.
Nascot Arms
11 Stamford Road, Watford WD17 4QS
One bar pub serving a range of Greene King beers and, usually, a non-Greene King beer. Most major sporting events are shown on the multiple screens. The restaurant, Mr Tings, is run as a franchise separate from the pub, but all drinks are from the bar. The Thai food is popular and booking is often necessary: http://www.mrtingthaicuisine.co.uk

West Herts Sports Club
8 Park Avenue, Watford WD18 7HP
The clubhouse is being redeveloped with the intention of moving the bar to a new first floor extension. Drinks are currently being served from the old function room (home of the Watford Beer Festival). A former CAMRA National Club of the Year, and a regular CAMRA's East Anglian Club of the Year, the club grounds were the site of Watford FC's first ground. Up to 4 guest beers are served. Non club members may need to sign-in and are only allowed entry 4 times a year.
White Lion
79 St Albans Road, Watford WD17 1SJ
Traditional pub consisting of one games (pool, darts) orientated bar, and a larger "saloon" style bar. Several clubs meet at the pub, specifically the Watford Diving Club and Watford Camera (not CAMRA!) Club on Thursdays, and the Watford Bookwriters' Club on Mondays. There is a quiz night on Tuesday, which is free to enter. Live bands play twice monthly, usually on Saturdays. The conservatory can be used for functions, provided they aren't too rowdy. Check with the management for details. There is a car park, but spaces are limited. New management took over in late October 2021, food will not served until the kitchen has been upgraded
Wishing Well
188-196 St Albans Road, Watford WD24 4AT
Reopened mid December 2019 and, despite what the poster on the side of the pub states, there's no real ale. A couple of keg Camden beers are available, served in the brewery's tumbler style glasses, at over £5 a pint. The bar has been opened up into a single, open plan, area and the advertising would indicate that it will be concentrating on televised sport and live music.
Bosleys
107-115 The Parade, High Street, Watford WD17 1LU
Large food based pub during the day that turns into part of the Watford party scene at night with DJ music
