Sleek sports bar decorated with a variety of sports memorabilia, and not just football shirts as in many others. The front entrance leads into a wide room, well lit, with views down towards Crosby Marina. To the rear is the main bar area with a number of booth-like seating areas with high tables and seating, many in semi-circular shapes. There are two outdoor drinking areas; one at the rear of the pub is more of a beer garden with typical picnic bench seating, whilst the one on South Road is an extension of the pub itself with tables and upholstered seating. Live sporting events are shown on the TVs (Sky Sports and BY Sport) throughout the pub, and there is a pool table for those who feel more energetic. Formerly known as the Marine Hotel, the building is where Marine Football Club was founded in 1894.

A Manx Cat Inn, owned by Isle of Man brewer, Okells. It serves their beers, alongside at least four changing guest beers from around the country, mostly from smaller brewerues. The pub has an interesting history as Kirkland's Bakery and its name comes from their slogan 'no flies in the loaf'. Subsequently, it was Kirkland's Wine Bar for many years before closure. It was reopened as a pub in 2004 by Okells. Refurbished, in May 2014, the spacious interior has a light and airy frontage with good views of the Anglican Cathedral from the raised window areas, with contrasting wood panelled sections to the rear. There is an attractive small outside drinking space at the front and a function room upstairs.

This characterful two-roomed pub is a traditional gem, situated close to the very lively Mathew Street area. Its walls are adorned with memorabilia including, unsurprisingly, many pictures of White Star shipping liners, and a wall in the back room dedicated to photographs of the Beatles. Dublin-born Mary Egerton came to Liverpool in the 1890s and managed the American Bar in Lime Street before taking over The Eagle in Pudsey Street. The interior shows many of the stars that have appeared at the nearby Empire Theatre many of whom will have come out of the stage door into the pub.
