Started brewing their own beers using the plant at Stamps Brewery as the Ship & Mitre brewing company now renamed Flagship. As of January 2018, pub now uses lined glasses to serve real ale.

Famous for its rock juke-box, the Swan, with its distinctive blue-tiled façade and stained glass windows has changed little over the years. The walls are adored with various art work depicting Swans and there is a striking and unusual Mural on the stairs leading to the toilets. Eight handpumps serve a selection of beer from national and micro-breweries as well as Rosie's Tripple D cider. The seating is a combination of wooden pews and traditional bar stools with red lightbulbs in the back room.

Card payment only. Located across the road from the Albert Dock, the layout based on the ‘flat iron’ principle with interior decoration on a nautical theme. Following the closure of Wapping beers which was brewed in the cellar, now has 3 guest beers which are usually from local breweries. Tunnels in the cellar have led to some speculation of a dark period in the pub’s history involving smuggling and press gangs. Originally had many doors to allow customers to escape the press gangs who could only cover 1 or 2. Quiz evening Wednesday. Sea Shanty singing first Saturday of the month, 8pm.

Scotch Piper

Reopened after fire to thatch caused extensive damage. A Grade II*-listed building dating back to 1320, this three-roomed, thatched inn takes its name from an incident in 1745 when a highland piper, injured in the Jacobite rebellion, took refuge here. The interior boasts traditional black wooden beams, low ceilings and whitewashed walls, and a roaring fire in winter. Three cask ales are normally available from the small wooded bar. The toilets are in a small outhouse to the left of the entrance. Next door in woods to the right are the ruins of St Catherine's Chapel (aka Lydiate Abbey) , now rather overgrown. Reputed to be a tunnel between the Abbey and the Scotch Piper. Outdoor performances of Shakespeare are held annually in the Chapel grounds to raise restoration funds. New licensee from November 2016.

The Endbutt is found in one of the main housing areas of Crosby, for which it provides a useful community hub. The pub was built in 1923 for Threlfall’s Brewery, and brewery motifs can be found on some beams and stonework over doorways. After a major refurbisment in July 2015, the pub itself comprises two main areas: the restaurant area in the original building with an extended bar area in a later extension to the right. All the handpumps are now together on one bar.

Situated in the Georgian quarter of the city, this street corner pub which is popular with students from the nearby university/colleges, comprises one room on two levels and has a small function room upstairs. The enterprising licensee has developed a programme of live music events for which the pub was awarded Live Music Pub of the Year by the local CAMRA Branch in 2011. Music is played regularly on Friday evenings, and on alternate Sundays there is a bluegrass band from 8.30-12 and jazz from 4-7pm; occasional Wednesday and Saturday bands too, full programme listings available in pub. On these occasions, the pub, which can be a haven for quiet conversation in the day, can be really buzzing with atmosphere! All food is vegan or vegetarian --no meat here. All the real ale is unfined as well.

This venue consists of an old warehouse and a large warehouse that used to be a scrapyard. Indoors consists of a bar area with a dozen tables and a separate performance area. Outside there is a large open space with a Wood Award winning canopy bar and the food hut. Hours could vary and could open on Mondays and Tuesdays if the weather is good. Part of, or sometimes all of, the venue could be closed to the public for events or private functions. As the venue is largely open air, a decision has been made not to sell real ale for the winter.
