This fine example of a roadside 1920s-style alehouse has a fine interior and features in CAMRA's National Inventory of Pub Interiors. The front bar can be very boisterous at times with large screen for sports whilst the rear rooms are more peaceful. Notice the fine wood panelling and superb fireplace in the rear bar. There is a large smoking area and a garden for alfresco eating in the summer months. Guest beers come from a seasonal portfolio.

Formerly The Old Joint Stock Bank, it is a Victorian Grade 2 listed building. Aside from regular and seasonal Fullers beers, the management supports the Locale scheme with two or three guests. The theatre hosts many performances throughout the year and also local comedians and live jazz. Good quality food is served, with now a changing menu.

An Ember Inns redbricked pub dating to 1901, run by the same manager for over ten years whose clientele is varied. Although it is only a large one roomed pub there are smaller areas so you can still get privacy. The two regular and four guest ales are served by friendly staff. There is an active bowling club and a skittle alley at the rear. Less than one mile from Edgbaston Cricket Ground, it is handy for visiting fans.

Large city centre Wetherspoon's pub that was formerly the first branch of the Abbey National. It is a simple, nicely decorated pub that has a 40 room Wetherlodge above it. Children are allowed in before 9pm providing they are having a meal. The guest beer range can feature one brewery at a time or carry a common theme and often features local micro breweries.

This Grade II* listed building is a classic example of late Victorian splendor. From the main bar the superb original stained glass windows can be viewed with the M&B logo as it was in 1901. There are ornate Minton tiles and a very fancy tiled staircase. The restaurant is well known for its excellent selection of Thai cuisine. As well as the regular Oakham beers and seasonals, at least one guest ale is usually available. Can get busy on Aston Villa home games.

Situated on the canal front of the mailbox complex, this popular bar is simple yet chic and modern. It has some excellent views of the canal and the Cube next to it. Real ale no longer features unfortunately. The food served is traditional favourites prepared to a high standard. There are also specials to look out for.
