British Oak

This fine example of a roadside 1920s-style alehouse has a fine interior and features in CAMRA's National Inventory of Pub Interiors. The front bar can be very boisterous at times with large screen for sports whilst the rear rooms are more peaceful. Notice the fine wood panelling and superb fireplace in the rear bar. There is a large smoking area and a garden for alfresco eating in the summer months. Guest beers come from a seasonal portfolio.

Closes early if no customers, so ring ahead if intending a later visit. Monthly train spotters group hooks up 1st Wed of the month. Function room at the back holds about 35 people. Guest ales often from AJ's, Goff's, 3D, Froth Blowers, Rock n' Roll, Flipside, Milestone.

At last visit, the disabled access toilet had been removed.

NOTE: Perry Barr railway station is closed until May 2022, and there are lots of temporary works and diversions in the area.
