Boasting most frequent local branch entries (17 years), a family-run pub converted from the cellars of a Victorian house. Six handpumps dispense guest beers from micros around the country. Excellent locally sourced, home-cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings, with Sunday lunches probably the best in town. Quiz night is Tuesday, open mic night is Wednesday, local acoustic acts appear on Thursday, and Saturday is live music night. The patio fronting the pub is popular in summer. Children and dogs are welcome and accommodation is available.

Recently refurbished, this busy traditional local is located in Falsgrave with an open-plan room divided into a lounge and function area plus a separate games room (pool and darts). Built in the 1840's, the pub has a split-level interior with three seating areas. This friendly, conversational pub is handy for the town centre and spa complex. The pub was purchased from Marston plc by a small family run pub chain with a hope to resurrect its former glory as a real ale mecca. Four rotating guest beers are offered with up to seven available at peak times. Occasionally host Steak nights. Sky and BT satellite TV may be enjoyed. There is an outside covered smoking area to the side of the pub and popular beer garden at the rear. Live entertainment may feature at weekends.
