The Merchant is a multi-levelled single-roomed pub with an upstairs function room and bar, located close to the South beach. Of note is the main bar which is constructed with sawn-off pieces of railway sleepers. A regular beer " The Merchant Gold " is brewed locally. Meals are served from the next door cafe on request. En-suite accommodation is available. This is a live-music orientated establishment with events occuring most nights of the week and is home to the Scarborough Folk Club who meet on Mondays
