Vaults
3 Market Square, Rugeley WS15 2BL
Keg-only music bar in the centre of town. Lots of windows allow you to look out on the surrounding streets, preferable to looking at the interior.
Vine Inn
Sheep Fair Close, Rugeley WS15 2AT
Old pub on a quiet street, a locals pub, which retains a traditional multi-room layout with a spacious bar to the front, small snug behind the bar, plus a room to the rear offering pool. There's also a large function room upstairs. The bar feels pleasantly dated, with quarry tiles and an open log fire. The Vine now has its own brewery. Food is available Wednesday to Sunday, best to check times, with themed nights on Thursdays. Small beer yard at the front, underneath the sign. The guest ale is generally Bass.
Plaza
Horsefair, Rugeley WS15 2EJ
Previously a cinema dating from the 1930s, this spacious Wetherspoon pub retains much of the cinematic atmosphere and Art Deco flourishes of the period. The light and airy interior allows for three widely separated levels, accentuated by a large window area where the cinema screen once was, this leads out to an outside drinking areas, with balcony, terrace and lawned beer garden. Around seven guest ales are offered, with micros such as Salopian proving popular. The small car park is Pay and Display.
Colliers
Power Station Road, Rugeley WS15 1LX
Spacious new-build pub-cum-restaurant on the town bypass. The interior offers a variety of comfy and cosy seating areas. Part of the Table Table chain, there is a variety of food options including breakfast from 6.30am (7am weekends). The beer terrace offers outdoor drinking and dining, though the view is dominated by Rugeley power station cooling towers. The guest beer is generally Marston's family but there are tentative plans for a micro ale.
