Rugeley's first micro-pub, opened in December 2016. The Rusty Barrel Micro Pub is located in the Fernwood Shopping Centre, off Green Lane behind the Spar, one mile from the town centre. Four beers on the bar, sourced nationally or locally direct from the breweries, plus three craft beer taps. Real ciders and perry are also available. It also offers wines and a selection of spirits and 35+ craft gins. Snacks are of the micro-pub variety - crisps, nuts, etc, and includes locally sourced pork scratchings. The pub's name derives from the owner's love of classic and rusty VW vehicles. Child friendly until 7pm and then operates an adult-only policy. There is ample free public parking out front. The pub hours vary, it's best to check the pub's Facebook page for the current opening times.

First-floor bar consisting of a single large room, opened in 2019. The decor is chic-rustic in style, with wooden flooring, bare wood panelling, and even wooden chandeliers. There is plenty of comfortable seating in a retro style, including a leather sofa and a single large booth. The toilets feature old-fashioned high level cisterns, and bizarre door decoration with rusty garden spades and forks. Two changing cask ales and usually a real cider are on hand pulls. A wide range of fruit-flavoured gins are available. If walking to the bar is beyond you, you may text your order to the bar.

Tidy countryside pub on the edge of Cannock Chase Forest. The interior decor is modern but tasteful, with lots of dark wood giving the feel of a hunting lodge. Has two ales on offer. Soft music plays and upmarket, fresh food is offered. Sunny beer terrace to the rear. Small private function room. This pub seems to be more of a eatery than a pub.

Real Fire

Old pub on a quiet street, a locals pub, which retains a traditional multi-room layout with a spacious bar to the front, small snug behind the bar, plus a room to the rear offering pool. There's also a large function room upstairs. The bar feels pleasantly dated, with quarry tiles and an open log fire. The Vine now has its own brewery. Food is available Wednesday to Sunday, best to check times, with themed nights on Thursdays. Small beer yard at the front, underneath the sign. The guest ale is generally Bass.
