At one time was Pontefract's only genuine free house. Completely re-furbished in early 2003, it then comprised one large drinking area, fully carpeted throughout and in March 2015 underwent a refurbishment to a much higher standard of comfort, reinstating three distinct areas. It did have offerings from the nearby Revolutions Brewing Company but possibly branded as Henry Smith Brewery since the beer namesweare exclusive to this pub. Poetry and folk events held here including the Pontefract Ukelele Social Club on a Monday. Pontefract Tanshelf is nearest station but Castleford and Leeds trains go from Pontefract Monkhill behind the castle. For food menu see facebook photos
