Albany

A locals' pub in an area with a large student population, the Albany continues to attract a varied clientele through its beer quality, ambiance and range of activities. The public bar is lively, with TVs showing sport, while the lounge bar offers the chance for quiet conversation. The pub holds a twice-weekly poker league night, weekly quiz and karaoke on Saturday nights. It has a covered and heated smoking area, skittle alley and beer garden.

Built in Arts and Crafts style but modernised in recent years, it has retained original features including wood panelling in the public bar and two red-brick fireplaces. Chapter Arts Centre

Former school, now a bright, attractive arts centre with a fantastic bar. One section of the long bar counter is dedicated to fine, good-value food. The other section has up to six real ales, half from the Marstons stable and the others from interesting independents. There is also a good range of continental beers including some from smaller German breweries. Contemporary art adorns the walls.
Cottage

Behind an ornate wood and glass frontage, the Cottage has a long, narrow interior. Built around 1750, it is one of the oldest inns in Cardiff. A classic Brains pub, it serves a full range of the brewery's ales and a guest beer, along with home-cooked food until mid evening. Decorated with old photographs of the city, this is a convivial retreat on a main street where the nightlife can be hectic. It is usually busy on rugby international match days.
Deri Inn

A large suburban pub on the northern outskirts of Cardiff which has been much modernised over the years. Popular and busy, it has a large lounge bar, stylishly furnished and divided into several distinct areas. The five regular ales are from regional breweries all over the UK. Two quiz evenings are hosted each week. There is a large car park, outside seating areas and covered smoking area.

An extended and much modernised local in what was the historic village centre, just off the Whitchurch shopping area. Following a recent refurbishment, it is now entirely devoted to lounge bar / dining and the last vestige of a public bar has disappeared. The lawn at the rear is popular in summer. Guest beers are from Brains. A mini beer festival is held in July.
Blue Bell

Popular city centre Brains pub with a traditional appearance and friendly bar staff, attracting a brisk trade from both locals and visitors. Dating from 1813 as the Blue Bell, it was renamed Goat Major in 1995 after the mascot of the Royal Welsh Regiment, a fact that was proudly illustrated in the many photographs adorning the cosy interior. Traditional Welsh food is served into the early evening. A handy watering hole if visiting Cardiff Castle and other local attractions. Sold by Brains to Croeso Pub Company and then the name reverted from Goat Major to its original name Blue Bell, reopening 27th May 2021. Sells beer from a variety of Welsh brewers.

This busy open plan public house has a large central bar and various drinking and dining areas to choose from. The pub has a genuine, comfortable feel to it. Popular with a mixed clientele, and a traditional skittle alley.

Located near Glamorgan County Cricket ground, this large free house and micro brewery, was a former lodge, Four real ales, brewed on site, are always available. The conservatory provides a smart and comfortable place to enjoy the menu of freshly cooked Welsh food, while large decked areas outside offer pleasant surroundings in better weather, with the "Beach Huts" being the novelty factor.

In a quiet side street in the residential district of Pontcanna, this pub has an L-shaped drinking area divided into spaces devoted to drinking and dining. Good-quality food, with an emphasis on local ingredients, is available from a frequently changing menu. At least three guest beers are kept, generally sourced from established Welsh brewers. There is an outdoor drinking/eating area to the front of the pub.

Situated across the street from the Millennium Stadium, the brewery can be seen from the street as well as from inside the bar. The beers are slightly cooler than cask beers are normally served. A wide variety of pizzas is available, as well as mussels, pasta, risotto, salads and sausage and mash. The upper floors are reserved for diners. A welcoming pub with friendly staff. A "happy hour" extends from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Monday to Friday but note that half pints cost more than half the price of a pint. Opening hours may extend to midnight.
