Once called " The Highwayman" but has now had a facelift. It has a public bar with pool table and a smart lounge bar leading into a restaurant area. Also to the front of the pub is a conservatory which you pass through to enter the bars. A small garden and patio area are out the front with a large car park. Dogs are allowed in public bar and in the conservatory if eating. No longer does real ale.

Situated at the southern end of the town centre, the King's Head has reverted back to its original name after being an Irish theme pub for numerous years. The pub has become popular for drinkers and diners of all ages. Within a year it has gone from serving no real ale to now selling three beers and one cider. Awarded the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend's local CAMRA branch Most Improved Pub of the Year award for 2017. Weekly quiz nights are also popular and they organise occasional beer festivals and are keen to stock local Welsh beers.

A mixed clientele use the three distinct areas - a café, a bar and a lounge with comfortable settees. Sports television is available throughout, and the real ale is on two hand pumps, one of which often serves an interesting and well chosen guest beer. Lunches are served Monday to Friday 12-2.30.

Unsurprisingly this is very much a sports orientated club - you can watch matches from the patio drinking area or through the large windows if it's raining.It fields darts and pool teams and holds beer and cider festivals on bank holidays. A comfortable, friendly club.
