This is a large multi roomed pub at the City Centre end of Broad Street. Known as much for its good value food the pub is developing a reputation for its quality beers and are looking to increase the range available. Handy for the Brindley Place area, NIA and Symphony Hall and its good canalside location make this pub popular with families and local workers alike although children are only allowed in if eating and must leave by 6.00pm.

Huge Wetherspoon's pub in the heart of Broad Street, which takes its name from the fact that the canal network cut a figure of eight shape around Birmingham. The pub has bookshelves and the usual collection of old pictures of the area adorn the walls. Very popular with after work drinkers and is on the city centre drinking circuit so gets busy early evenings, Fridays and Saturdays. The pub has a dining only area and large beer garden.

Welcoming sports club with two rooms. Beer festivals are held in April and December as well as other social events including live music. CAMRA Members are welcome on production of a membership card (maximum 10 visits year). The beer range always includes rotating guest ale, with a minimum of five real ales available.

This early 19th-century former Holder's outlet, restored by Black Country Ales, sports an attractive blue-tiled exterior and a cosy one room interior. Handpulls take prominence on the bar and in addition to three permanent Black Country beers, between six and eight changing guest casks come from breweries often new to Birmingham. Lunchtime meals Mon-Sat with various cobs, cheese boards and snacks are available at all times.

Small and just off the main High Street, the pub is serious about craft beer – even to the point of not stocking many mainstream products. it serves five real ales from small and local breweries, seven craft beers and five craft ciders as well as real cider. There is also an interesting selection of bottled beers. The décor is original and eclectic. And it really does grow hops in the garden.

Recently acquired by Laine and reopened after refurbishment in February 2020. A quirky yet traditional pub. Beer range includes craft beers and standard brewery offerings on keg. Large sun-trapped garden at the rear is great in the warmer months. There can even be a BBQ outside. The food range includes burgers, pizzas, wings, and vegan. Sunday roasts available 12-8. At last visit, the disabled access toilet had been removed.

A grade two listed building which was once an old bank (hence the writing on the exterior), this pub has a very pleasant albeit quirky decor. There should be three ales on sale but it can sometimes be difficult to know as there may be no pump clips on the handpulls, so it's best to ask.

Canalside Cafe

The smallest pub in Birmingham, adjacent to Gas Street Basin, a major mooring point for canal boats. The pub is full of history and was the fictional home of the character Stan Harvey of Crossroads fame. It is a nice, cosy, intimate pub that usually stocks guest beers from micro breweries. There are also a range of bottled beers and cider for sale. The food is of particular note having an extensive range and a large selection of vegetarian options.
