Recent changes to the lighting have greatly improved the overall atmosphere, very pleasant well trained staff, with real ale & cider served too a consistently high standard. Well used by locals & visitors alike.
Golden Lion

Occupying an imposing building on the town's Square, this pub has had several different licensees in recent years and a number of name changes. The exterior was smartened up in January 2012 and its current name harks back to the pub's heyday when it was known as The Golden Lion Tap. Several rooms have been knocked into one to create the main space around the bar, but despite the open plan lay out it still offers quiet corners and comfort.
