Abbotsford Hotel

A fine Scottish baronial style building, in the same ownership since 1966. Located just under a mile south of Ayr town centre and a 20 minute walk from the railway station. The seafront is five minutes away, with golf courses, parks and Burns attractions nearby. The delightful and aptly named Copper Bar has the real ale. There are also several pleasant areas including a Dining Room and Games Room with TV showing sports events. Real flame fires add to the warm inviting atmosphere. Meals are available although it is advisable to book.

This comfortable lounge bar, in an attractive 1860s B-listed Victorian building, is the brewery tap for Ayr Brewing Company who brew in the rear of the building. The guest ales often include a seasonal from the brewery. Beers are usually also available to take away from a shop/bar at the rear of the dining room. Bar and restaurant meals are served daily except Monday.

A large Wellington boot advertises the location of this basement bar. Close to the seafront, bus station and local government offices, it attracts tourists and office workers alike. The Wednesday evening quiz is popular and at the weekend there may be live music, or a DJ on Saturday and an acoustic session on Sunday. Three changing ales vary constantly between brewers.
