An award-winning, proper, narrow-fronted Victorian pub with one large bar and 12 hand pumps serving a range of the local B&T beers as well as Everards Tiger and eight constantly changing ales mainly from micro breweries plus one changing craft keg beer. Two real regular ciders and a guest also served. There's a meeting room and secluded patio garden towards the rear. A varied selection of local clubs and groups are supported. Twice Bedfordshire Pub of the Year.

There is TV, pool, juke box and darts in the front bar with a quiet and comfortable separate longe. Dogs welcomed.

The Hide specialises in wines, cocktails and tea / coffees. The only draft beers are ubiquitous lagers. Breakfasts are served from first thing and a range of café style meals for the rest of the day including sandwiches, cakes and pastries. A take away food service is also available.

Re-opened in May 2015 after a major refurbishment having been taken on by Oakman Inns. The two hand pumps feature changing beers from the local Kelchner Brewery (Ampthill) and the Fuller's range. The interior is highly contemporary but the historic English Civil War era mural has been lovingly retained and highlighted. An impressive Georgian façade with no less than 20 windows dating from the 17th century. There are two separate restaurant areas plus the front bar and a large outdoor courtyard.
