A truly charming and cosy 18th century tavern in a historic area of Ampthill close to the park and the Greensand Ridge walk. Inside is a low-beamed saloon bar, a lounge and another room which is available for private functions. The pub’s name refers to Catherine of Aragon who was imprisoned in Ampthill Castle while Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries and broke from the church of Rome.

Re-opened in May 2015 after a major refurbishment having been taken on by Oakman Inns. The two hand pumps feature changing beers from the local Kelchner Brewery (Ampthill) and the Fuller's range. The interior is highly contemporary but the historic English Civil War era mural has been lovingly retained and highlighted. An impressive Georgian façade with no less than 20 windows dating from the 17th century. There are two separate restaurant areas plus the front bar and a large outdoor courtyard.
