Historic inn overlooking the River Wear at the north end of Fatfield Bridge. Dating from 1827 this pub once included a brewery. There are two entrances ; the bar which has two handpulls serving Timothy Taylors Landlord and Hobgoblin Gold. and the other to a larger tastefully decorated lounge and eating area - good value meals are served every day. There is a a dummy handpull on the lounge bar. The pub opens daily at 11 am ( the bar entrance at noon) Karaoke features on Friday & Saturday nights with a quiz every Monday night. There is an outside seating area at the rear with BBQ and children's play area, overlooked by Worm Hill. Regular buses outside the door
