The pub is decorated in the pleasant style of many of the Inn The Bar group's pubs. It has four separate areas. So sit about in a cosy and comfortable place. Close to town centre this pub is open plan. A wooden floor greets you at the entrance with carpeted areas on either side. A pool table at the rear sits in a tiled area. Millstone Inn
67-69 Wigan Lane, Wigan WN1 2LF
The Millstone is a modern pub with a conservatory extension but has a traditional feel. There is a beer garden to the rear and a sheltered smoking area. Five TVs throughout the premises show sporting events. Two beers from the Thwaites range are served and usually one local ale, plus a range of bottled continental beers. The pub gets busy at weekends and when Wigan rugby and football teams are playing. Also sells Kingston Press cider, Konig Ludwig Dunkel and Kaltenborg on tap. Pleasant venue which shows a lot of sports.
Silverwell
117 Darlington Street East, Wigan WN1 3EF
Former Peter Walker house (then Tetley's), refurbished and reopened by Holts; and a good job they've made of it, with sensitive use of glass and dark wood. Upholstery above-average; perhaps too many murals, although there is an interesting collection of framed cigarette cards featuring famous musicians of yore. Function room. Holt's bitter available on cask. Other Holt beers in bottle. Open all day.
