Huntsman & Hounds
70 Elsted Street, Walworth SE17 1QG
Closed when the landlord died in 2013, sold in 2014 for residential development upstairs, but the developer conceded that a pub will be retained, reopened August 2016 and operated by Market Taverns. The freeholder is United St Saviours Charity. It was granted ACV status following an application from the Walworth Society. The pub now seems to be popular and doing well, but having initially reintroduced real ale, it has now been discontinued. There is also a diverse range of craft keg and bottled beers available.
Manor of Walworth
140-142 Walworth Road, Walworth SE17 1JL
A conversion to a public house which opened in early April 2018, set within a historic Georgian terrace slightly set back from the street, a former office for the CSEU and next door to what was once the headquarters of the Labour Party. Conservatively (no pun intended!) decorated and furnished around 3 sides of the bar. Bare-boarded, with walls a mix of bare brick and wallpaper. There are several old fireplaces open to view. There are toilets downstairs and perhaps better appointed rest rooms up two flights of stairs, investigate both to look for the differences. 4 handpumps. * Reopened under Portobello Brewing management in early August 2021 - beer range and other details are yet to be updated.
