Back in April 2014 the Club celebrated its 80th anniversary and continues to be at the heart of Tilehurst life. Music features regularly at weekends (see website for details). There are Friday lunchtime specials from the kitchen. Both the Assembly all and the Lounge Bar are available for hire. Snooker and angling societies, amongst others, are actively supported. "We are a members Club of course but non members are allowed to use the Club if they either attend with a member or they ask nicely for a "trial session" within reason."

Formerly known as the Bear Inn, built in the 1930's. Closed for a number of years during the mid-2000's it re-opened following a major refurbishment in February 2012 as a Flaming Grill pub. Meal deals Monday to Friday. Closes at 11 Friday & Saturday, despite what their website says. The 17 bus terminates here.

A former Wethered's (Marlow) pub that has miraculously retained its two-bar layout, it was once one of a pair of back-street pubs which stood facing each other; the former Bird in Hand ph can still be easily identified opposite. At this welcoming locals' and entirely wet-led pub, enjoy the sizeable garden in good weather together with TV football or a quiz held on the 1st Thursday of every month.

Formerly The White House, this pub was extensively refurbished in 2014 with the addition not only of a conservatory area but also the introduction of food - now including weekday breakfasts - and real ale. There is now a broader clientèle than hitherto and scenes of historic Reading abound within. A dart board and a pool table are available, games played via a fee paid into the former and with a deposit paid at the bar for the latter. Buses stop right outside or just around the corner.
