Formerly The White House, this pub was extensively refurbished in 2014 with the addition not only of a conservatory area but also the introduction of food - now including weekday breakfasts - and real ale. There is now a broader clientèle than hitherto and scenes of historic Reading abound within. A dart board and a pool table are available, games played via a fee paid into the former and with a deposit paid at the bar for the latter. Buses stop right outside or just around the corner.
