Lively pub with a main room and a function room with a skittle alley. Strong emphasis on sports. The main part of the pub is split level, arranged about a central bar. The public bar area allows darts be played. Away from the bar the lounge is spacious and to one side is an alcove area with lots of exposed beams. The function room has its own bar and may be hired for private parties. Food is served lunchtimes. No food Saturday & Sunday eve.

This popular village local has become a regular entry in the GBG. Formerly a Mad O'Rourke pub, it still maintains a link to its quirky past with a selection of framed front pages from its own newspaper adorning the walls. As well as real ale, a selection of traditional fruit wines and single malt whiskies are always available. Good quality reasonably priced meals cooked by the licensee are served seven days a week, the Desperate Dan Cow Pie being the house speciality.

There are two small, cosy rooms with basic snacks and packs of sweets available. Take-away food can be brought into the pub and a chip shop is next door. Weatheroak brewery off sales are also available in various sizes of dispense.
