The Turks Head, St Helens CAMRA pub of the year 2020 and 2021, is only a short distance from the town centre. It is an attractive black and white style pub built in the 1870’s. It offers a large range of real ales rotational on 14 hand-pulls every day, a selection of real ciders and has a large whisky and gin bar. Upstairs is the new tower lounge which offers cocktails and an extensive range of craft and continental beers. The lounge also has live music entertainment on every Saturday evening. CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2017 is part of the St Helens vibrant pub scene. A friendly, family run, community pub with 13 ever changing hand pulls including at least one dark beer at all times and 10 ciders plus a range of rum, brandy, whisky and over 100 gins. This traditional pub has undergone a refurbishment and has two beer gardens and an outside bar used for regular beer festivals throughout the year as well as private events, darts and pool leagues are run as well as quiz nights, and regular fund raising events are held for local charities. There is an on site brewery called Howzat and there is normally at least one of its beers available on the bar.
