Formerly a cinema and bingo hall in the centre of town, this bright and airy Wetherspoon conversion features film-themed decor and fittings. It has a spacious main area with a high ceiling and a smaller room on a lower level. The large patio drinking area to the front is a suntrap in summer. Alcoholic drinks are served from 9am.

Local friendly pub on the edge of the town centre, Reopened as the Moors Tavern, the clubhouse for Spennymoor football club in August 2016, and the history of the football club is reflected in the smart refurbishment. After closure due to football club using a clubhouse at its ground, it reopened in November 2021

Very pleasant and welcoming pub on modern estate built in mid 1970s. A single room combines well a lounge and bar atmosphere. Real ale reportedly reintroduced late 2014. Quiz nights held on Tuesdays and live music monthly on a Saturday. Ale no longer available in 2018 though may reappear one day. Largely food orientated.

Open plan drinking area around a central staircase that leads to large rooftop terrace. situated on main shopping street. Real ale had been withdrawn when checked October 2017 due to low sales, three unused handpumps. Handpumps removed June 2019.

Large food led pub on the eastern side of the town. Also has televisions for major sporting events. Close to local council offices. Availability of real ale had become unreliable so as to indicate as a no real ale pub but seemed to be serving again February 2015 and in July 2015 two beers now on tap, one national and one local. But ale disappeared again June 2016
