Popular pub located on the historic Barbican. The original Mayflower steps would have been located at the rear of the pub. Upto three real ales are served, mainly from local breweries. It is decorated throughout with a nautical theme. It can get busy in the Summer, with locals and visitors alike. Discos are held on Saturday nights, with occasional live music and charity quizzes. Evening meals are not served on Saturday or Sunday evenings. Accommodation is available, some with sea views. TV sports are also shown on the large screen TV. Sometimes can close early on Sunday evenings when not busy.

Cracking back-street local tucked away in the old quarter of Stonehouse, close to the magnificent Grade 1-listed Royal William Yard, and maintains the area’s military connections. One South West guest beer, such as a beer from Black Tor, Dartmoor and Summerskills, and Thatchers Heritage or Cheddar Valley cider are normally available and supplement the Draught Bass. An out of season Beach Party takes place on the last weekend of February, and charity monkey-racing also features. This place is a real find and is popular with hockey teams who use the nearby pitches.

A colourful pub located at a busy crossroads. Three real ales and one cider are usually available, with Sharp's Atlantic being a regular guest beer. Reasonably priced food is served all day from 1100-2100, with different food theme nights every day of the week. Minerva Inn

Built before the Spanish Armada in 1588, it is not known exactly when the Minerva first became an inn. However, it is recognised as the oldest pub in Plymouth. It boasts a fine leaded window, picturesque lantern and a curious wooden spiral staircase made from the mast of a captured Spanish galleon. Live music is staged on Thursday to Sunday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. It is within easy walking distance from the city centre and historic Barbican. Occasional beer festivals also feature. Up to three guest ales supplement the two regular ales, including at least one from Altarnun, Bays, Dartmoor, Noss Beer Works, Roam Brewing Co or Summerskills. Traditional village pub situated close to Plymouth. The two regular beers are supplemented by three rotating guest beers, with Bays Devon Dumpling and Sharp's Sea Fury making regular appearances. Timothy Taylor Landlord and beers from Hunters have also been available recently (September 2021). Three cider festivals are held in the summer months, please ring for details. There is also a large selection of gins available, in excess of 20. The pub is reputedly the oldest in Plymouth, and was Grade II-listed on 1/5/15 by English Heritage (Historic England).

Although the layout is fairly open plan there are distinct areas within it, including a separate games area. 3D sports TV caters for the less energetic. Good value food served. An annual beer festival is held in August. Good value food is served daily from 1200 - 1430 (1600 Sun) and 1800 - 2030 (not Sun, Mon or Tue evenings). Free pool Mon - Fri 1200-1700, happy hours and other special offers feature daily. Weston's Old Rosie real cider is available, with at least one other guest real cider. Motorhomes may be parked here by prior arrangement! A community lending library also features.

The pub reverted to its' name of 22 years after two years as, first, the G Spot (Aug 2012), and then the Compass Inn (April 2013). The pub serves a selection of bottled ales, although cask ale makes regular appearances (Tribute). Darts and pool are played, with a free pool table on Wednesdays. The pub is dog and children friendly, and may remain open longer than the hours listed on Friday and Saturday evenings. It has long history as Plymouth's Number 1 LGBT pub venue.

The pub re-opened after refurbishment a couple of years ago, and now serves the "Flaming Grill" range of grills, steaks, burgers and salads. Breakfast is served from 1000 till 1400, sandwiches from 1000 till 1800, as well as the fresh Bistro menu until late.
Thistle Park Tavern

This free house was formally the Brewery Tap for the South Hams Brewery which, as Sutton, was located next door. The three regular ales are supplemented by a regularly-changing guest ale, such as Adnams Ghost Ship, Bath Ales Gem or one from local brewery, Summerskills, and a real cider, which changes from time to time. The pub can be accessed across the swing-bridge from The Barbican (closes at 11.00pm) and is situated close to the National Marine Aquarium. Live music features every Friday and Saturday evenings until 0300, giving a great atmosphere. Biltong snacks are available from the bar.

Regular open mic nights, quiz nights and a monthly comedy night are held. The history of the pub is displayed on boards around the pub walls. This pub is well worth seeking out. Owner Donna, her partner Lee and his family, have returned this former St. Austell pub back into a local’s local once again. The pub interior has been tastefully refurbished, including the reintroduction of a dart board and a good collection of other traditional board games and puzzles. The two regular ales are supplemented with a guest ale sourced locally and varying real cider in summer, with plans for more ales in the future. The house beer is brewed by Summerskills, and is named after the owners' dog. Traditional pub grub at affordable prices is supplemented by specials, with only the famous roast served on Sundays. It is situated close to the Royal Citadel and the world famous Barbican. First timers should turn right on exiting the pub, and head down the steps towards the Barbican to save time. One real ale from Purity Brewery is usually available here, which was the first pub to be rebuilt in Plymouth after complete destruction during the Blitz of 1941. There is a very small range of bottled ales (such as Newcastle Brown Ale), although they are not bottle conditioned. It is family-friendly until 1930 daily. There is live entertainment at weekends. The pub is also dog friendly.
