Real ale may sometime be served in the Grade ll listed pavilion in the corner of the ground. The public are allowed access for games, for some of which an entrance fee is required. Check fixtures on website.

Turl Street Kitchen opened in 2011 as a 'social' business which supports the Oxford Hub charity in the same building. It promotes sustainable eating and is a Low Carbon Oxford Pathfinder. It offers relaxed eating and drinking with a focus on great local produce and independent drinks makers. Serving breakfast until 10am, coffee, lunch and dinner. No real ale but has quality beer, cider, and lager in bottles and cans including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Cafe and Kitchen above the Bike Shop. Has bottled beer and a beer on tap from Oxford Craft Beer Co. (Shotover Brewery). Serves breakfast from 8 and lunches every day and dinner Thursday to Saturday. Has just opened music venue 'Le Bar' in the downstairs part serving cocktails, wines, and spirits every evening but Sunday.

Church Hanbrewery of Church Hanborough opened what is described as a nano-pub in a retail unit in the Covered Market so a bit spartan. Beer is served directly from up to 7 casks on stillage with another 7 on tap from the cellar. Sells its own, somewhat unusual, beers and others from small breweries in the county such as Little Ox. Serves in 1/3 and 2/3 pint at 1/2 and pint prices. Sells wine and spirits as well, also local, and the ales are available to take away in 750ml containers. Only open when the market is i.e. shop hours. No food but you can buy from other market units and eat at tables provided.

4 level venue above Oxford's Covered Market with 1st floor bar and nightclub (charge after 10pm), 2nd floor for event hire, 3rd floor cocktail lounge and restaurant, and then rooftop terrace with skyline views and own bar selling a couple of beers and a cider on tap at sky-high prices.

Plough at 38

38 Cornmarket Street, Oxford OX1 3HA

Two tenements were rebuilt as an inn and registered as the Plough Inn in 1656. It closed in 1924 and was changed to a shop but some of the upper stories are still original. It was leased to Austin Reed, a gentleman's outfitters, who were here until 2016 when the firm went into administration. Now reopened as a pub again. 'Green' XT beer is delivered and conditioned in 1,000 litre copper tanks behind the bar before being served under pressure but also has three beers from casks and three local beers from kegs.

Indoor crazy golf centre featuring three separate and eccentric courses. Music, cocktails and neon lights prevail. Food offering is restricted to hot dogs, nachos and popcorn. There is some beer on tap and cider and wine. Some (limited) walk-ins but they really want you to book online, and in groups. Costs £8 a round or £9.50 Friday and Saturday.

Another large rooftop bar in the Westgate Centre with a terrace and fine views of the city. Part of a national chain and aims to make your drink an experience. Has some beer on tap and in cans but most people come for the cocktails. As expensive as you would expect a drink served in a beaker or flask with some dry ice to be.The food seems reasonably priced though.

Caffe Ethos

60 Western Road, Oxford OX1 4LG

At one time a locals' pub with two intimate rooms and an adjoining bar. It was originally built as a private house in 1888, but converted into a pub in 1897. Although closed and boarded up in 2007, this pub has re-opened as more of a cafe serving the hotel opposite and acts as the hotel reception. Serves coffee, cocktails, wine, and food with an Italian theme. It is advertising beers from Rebellion Brewery, and others, but these are cans kept in the fridge.
