Yew Tree

This is very much a long established local community pub on the outskirts of Ormskirk. Once a Higson's pub, it was said to be the last new pub the former Liverpool brewery ever built. Serving a range of Robinsons and Hartleys cask ales, it sells excellent, home cooked food using produce from local butchers and other suppliers. Both the beer and food are excellent value, and the pub is a cash only pub.

: A country community local on the main road between Ormskirk and Skelmersdale. With its warm atmosphere it is well worth the walk or the bus journey from the real ale desert of Skelmersdale. The fresh cooked food and real ale are good value for money. The Prince Albert always has some interesting guest ales from north west breweries. The small central bar serves three distinct areas with real fires in the winter. The 310 375 and 385 buses all stop outside and the pub also has a good selection of pub games such as darts and dominoes.

The management also have the Golden Lion in the centre of Ormskirk. The pub no longer serves food and is open late Thurs-Sat till 2.00 AM. There are large screens showing sport in each room in the pub.

Opened in 2014 this Wetherspoon pub is situated in the centre of Ormskirk in a small courtyard area off Burscough Street. It has a large open plan main bar area fitted out in a modern and contemporary style. Virtually the entire upper floor is taken up by a fully exposed terrace which includes a non-smoking section. It is thought the pub occupies the site where the Court Leet met which was responsible for running the towns affairs until 1876. A lift is available.
