Home to Hereford (previously Spinning Dog) Brewery, several of the brewery's range is normally available, along with a selection of local cider and perry. The main bar in the shape of a galleon dates back to a pirate-themed refurbishment in the late 1980s. Further back is a long and narrow rear seating area that incorporates a minstrels' gallery, pool table and skittle alley. The place buzzes when pub teams play at home or on Saturdays or when local bands gig, but it can be quieter at other times and often does not open at all. Quiz on Tuesday evenings.

A well-run 18th Century city-centre venue tucked away in a charming cobbled alley leading to the cathedral. Although opened out into a single bar area, the pleasant wood-panelled interior gives an intimate feel, and the secluded, decked beer garden extends some way back. Speciality Greek Cypriot dishes feature on the lunchtime menu, and there is a conventional roast on Sundays. Evening meals are available by arrangement for groups of 15 or more. Live Blues music 4-6pm on last Sunday of every month. Quiz on Sunday evenings.

Recently refurbished, it now consists of a single bar, plus a variety of comfortable seating and dining areas on slightly differing levels. Old beams and wood panelling are much in evidence. There is always a friendly atmosphere at this keenly-run community-focused pub located in the backstreets of the city. It boasts two main bars and a fabulous little snug off a main corridor. Unusually, a skittle alley to the rear has survived and is still used. Regular events include a quiz on Mondays; curry and a pint on Wednesdays. Large two-bar 1930s pub built in a then rapidly expanding part of the city. Like all similar pubs built at that time in Hereford it took over the licences of two city-centre pubs which were duly closed. A community pub serving a wide area of Hereford south of the Wye, it is home to a large number of teams - six darts, two quoits, pool and a poker school. It also sponsors a local football team. A Karaoke session is held each Friday and live music monthly on Saturdays.

A large central bar-servery, is book-ended by two distinct seating areas with modern decor make this a popular pub for an area of the city otherwise devoid of quality choices. Snacks are always available, such as sandwiches, and pork pies and barbecues in summer. A quiz is held monthly on a Thursday.
