The Clarence Tavern was originally a club which was bought by Geoff Hartridge and reopened as a pub. The pub is now owned by Punch Taverns. There are two beer and local music festivals, one in spring and one in late summer. The large room next to the bar has a roof which came from an old chapel on the Isle of White, which gave its name to a former on-site brewery known as the Old Chapel brewery.
