Counting House
58 Aire Street, Goole DN14 5QE
Opened as Leatham, Tew and Company Bank in 1884, acquired by Barclays in 1906 and later became Transatlantic House. A remarkable transformation into a pub with smart open plan areas in two distinct rooms. Original Minton tile work and elaborate glasswork uncovered and restored during conversion to a pub, complimented by replica Venetian ceilings and original woodwork. Hotel type accommodation. Sold recently (April 2019) Now a sports bar, selling mainly lagers.
City & County
Market Square, Goole DN14 5DR
Situated on a roundabout in the centre of Goole this converted bank has made an excellent pub for J D Wetherspoon. The high ceilinged bar area used to be the main banking hall, and the bar stands where the counter once stood. Compact but with well laid out seating it has a friendly atmosphere and the customers here make a habit of raising large amounts of cash for local charities. Restaurant in separate area from the bar.
Viking
Western Road, Goole DN14 6RG
A member of the Greene King Hungry Horse chain, it is essentially a food orientated, family friendly pub, popular with both the local community and visitors alike. Entry though the main door leads into a central bar area; to the right is an adult area and to the left an inclusive, yet distinct family section containing a children’s play area.
