The horseshoe theme is continued from the shape of the bar to the bespoke mirrors and other artefacts. Note the mosaic floor, carved wooden wall panelling, painted tiles and illuminated stained glass ceiling area. Other interesting features include the large wooden casks on the gantry which once dispensed the pub's own brand of whisky and the recurring "JYW" motif of one of the previous owners. Very popular and often extremely busy. Four handpumps offer Scottish beers, some not often seen in Glasgow. Listening to the staff describe the virtues of various drams to appreciative visitors is an education, and landlord Frank’s beard is a tourist attraction in its own right. Should you ever tire of real ale and whisky, there is also a fridge of rare Franconian lagers. Food of the “pie and beans” school is available during the day – it’s finding a free table to eat it at that may be an issue. A mezzanine level provides a degree of seclusion for whisky tastings.
