Unusual pub name refers to a breech loading artillery piece invented by Sir William Armstrong in 1859.

Full range of hot drinks including posh coffees, and extensive daily menu, with offers Monday to Wednesday, and traditional roasts on Sundays. On cooler days there is a real log fire, and on warmers ones a sheltered patio garden. Note early closing on Sundays.

Also now known as Jude's Bar, a street corner local in village centre. Features pool table, sports TV, regular karaoke and live or disco music events. Licensee was the chef at another pub, and food goes from lunch time bar snacks and baguettes, through to an extensive evening menu, and on Sundays traditional roast. Lively pub being run as a social enterprise by Royal Holloway Students Union, open to all the local community. Unfortunately ceased serving a real ale due to poor quality and low take up. Daily food includes breakfast until noon, with a varied menu thereafter, which on Sunday includes 'roasts for four'. Entertainment includes Sky and BT Sports TV, with occasional acoustic live music and entertainment events, as well as poker nights and smartphone quiz.
