Previously the Jaffle Joint, in July 2019 it has been reopened by Cross Borders Brewing. Currently a soft opening as some things aren't quite in place like a phone line, functioning coffee machine, provision of food etc. More details to follow soon. Alongside 2 lines of cask (one from Cross Borders and one other) are 18 lines of keg showcasing the Cross Borders range alongside those from other breweries. The pub has a light, airy open-plan interior with lots of natural light from it’s large front windows.

Clark's Bar

A refurbishment in July 2019 simplified the inside and opened up the windows but no drastic changes were made to the layout and style of the pub. This tenement bar is popular with locals and office workers. The internal layout is interesting with two private rooms at the rear. A number of historical brewery mirrors and old photos of the pub adorn the main room. Don’t miss the interesting mural on the steep stairs down to the toilets, which shows some former worthies. Food is available from the Street Food restaurant next door (opened February 2020). Children are not admitted.

Modern styled open plan lounge bar split into separate bar and dining areas. Quality food is served all day from a main menu along with daily specials. Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 4pm. There's a box of toys and games to keep the children amused. Dogs are only permitted in the bar area, where food can also be provided if required. NOTE: Alcohol may not be served before 11am? People wearing football scarfs etc. are not allowed entry.

Black Cat

Small single-roomed selectively lit bar, with pleasant modern styling, an eclectic range of tables, chairs & stools with half-barrels on the rear wall above an upholstered banquette. There is an unusual suspended gantry above one of the tables. This friendly howff is open until 3 am during the festival in August. Along with 2 real ales usually from smaller Scottish breweries there are hot drinks available. A lively place to visit, especially when folk musicians arrive. An extensive range of malt whiskies may be sampled in taster 'flights'. Children allowed until 8pm.
