Walk in ground floor tenement bar with two main areas separated by the bar counter. Pleasantly decorated and has a mixture of booth seating and tables and chairs. Mostly wooden floored apart from a tiled area surrounding the bar and a few carpeted areas. Very much a pub that you can visit for a drink, but it also offers a variety of reasonably priced food ranging from light snacks to full meals.

St Vincent Bar

This unpretentious but comfortable and spacious basement bar with some fine stained glasswork attracts a wide selection of visitors due to its location in the New Town near to the fashionable area of Stockbridge. The bar has a fine wooden gantry and a defunct painted upright piano and tables with brass cribbage boards built in are part of the furniture. The food menu is all organic and includes vegetarian and vegan options. Children are not admitted.

A country pub in the city accessed via a tree lined drive and cobbled courtyard. The main bar is dominated by a large fireplace and the walls are adorned by horse brasses and photographs of old Edinburgh. Little Miss Muffet would be at home at certain tables. Food is served all day in both the main bar and the dining room to the rear. The pub has a charity book exchange and a winter quiz is held every second Friday. NOTE: Stays open until midnight in summer.

Tucked away in a New Town side street, this locals' bar has an L-shaped split level layout. The upper level has a food serving area and leads out to the south facing beer garden, while the lower level has the bar and a table football machine. Quiz night Mondays. Starbank Inn

Bright, airy, bare-boarded ale house with a U-shaped layout extending into a conservatory dining area. The walls sport several rare brewery mirrors and there are model ships on the window ledge. Enjoy the superb views across the Firth to Fife. Up to seven interesting guest ales, often from Scottish independent breweries, are usually available.
