Popular micropub that opened in 2013 in a former shop unit, serving six real ales covering all the major styles, plus cider and perry. 12 keg beers are also on tap (mostly Keykeg). Small scale but friendly and welcoming. Bar snacks available. Regular tap takeovers featuring breweries not often seen in the area. Free to air sports are often shown in the upstairs room. Winner of Town Centre Pub of the Year 2015.

Originally the Rose & Crown & Spireite, re-opened, after a major refurbishment January 2019 as the Glassworks, with four regular Brampton and four guest ales. The pub now has a comfortable 'snug' area which is decorated with photos and history of the Dema glassworks which once stood opposite the pub (now Proact Stadium of Chesterfield Football Club and a Tesco Store). Local pies are sold and an outside bar is open on football match days.
