Busy open-plan wine-bar lined with modern wood panelling covered with many photographs and pictures. Located in an imposing building, once the headquarters of the Gloucestershire Echo. Beer choice now more varied and probably the cheapest in town other than JDW. Refurbished in July 2017 and now offering 4 handpumps plus 5 ciders. All ales £3.10 (as of June 2021).

Primarily a venue for younger customers with personal TVs at some tables, with prominent large TVs and loud music. Rear paved patio area. Large pool table room upstairs. Up to three Butcombe beers available plus two ciders from the polypins. No food served but you can take in your own and obtain plates and cuttlery from the bar.

This open plan Lloyds No1 near the east end of the pedestrianised High St is a converted former car showroom. The decked area at the rear overlooks the River Chelt and Sandford Park, and there's a municipal car park within a hundred yards. Some five changing guest ales from near and far supplement the three standard beers, plus up to four ciders. The dance floor is used only Fri/Sat from 8pm, generally a quiet pub at other times. Food 8am-11pm. Interactive quiz night Mondays.

Situated in the pedestrian strand area of high-street this modern style sports bar pub has 4 real ales and a good selection of Ciders. Cafe style establishment with wooden floors and carpeted areas. Major refurbishment in March 2018. Busy and vibrant, can be noisy on live music or TV sporting events but generally quiet during the daytime attracting mothers with toddlers for their get togethers. Discount on ales for CAMRA members plus a loyalty card scheme.

Cheltenham Motor Club

Located just outside the town centre in the former Crown Inn. This friendly and welcoming club, formed in 1906, is open to all (regular visitors will be asked to join, a day membership of £2 is now charged but as year membership is just £8 it is worth joining if intending to visit regularly), card carrying CAMRA members are always welcome but, if local and intending to visit regularly, you will be expected to join as a social member. The enthusiastic steward normally keeps six ales on tap, one generally from Moor Beer (which is unfined and therefore naturally cloudy), a key-cask typically from Deya, and at least three ciders including Thatcher's Heritage cider plus a range of Belgian beers in bottles. The club is divided into a bar/TV room, now with additional snug and a games room separated by a folding partition. The bar is decorated with various motoring paraphernalia. Gloucestershire/Cheltenham CAMRA's Club of the Year 2006-2018 and South West regional finalist on five occasions, Three times winner of National CAMRA Club of the Year, 2013, 2017 and 2020, and 2014/5/16 finalist. Parking is very limited but the club is served by Stagecoach Service B which stops on London Road close to the Crown Passage (opposite Sandford Park Road) on which the club is located. Back issues of the Tippler magazine are now available in the main bar.

An upstairs function room is available for hire, along with a cellar bar/function room. Large garden and patio provide a pleasant outdoor, south facing drinking area. Recently acquired by owners of 'The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer' and 'Nettle & Rye' pubs in Bristol so an impressive range of ever changing beers is anticipated. Highly regarded as a restaurant but the separate impressive bar has evolved in to a superb ale and wine bar for general socialising and now serves two interesting ales, typically from Timothy Taylors, Wye Valley, Purity, Box Steam or Bespoke. The interesting bar menu including Platters, speciality sandwiches and hand-made cakes are worth contemplating. There's a pleasant conservatory/function room to the rear and outdoor seating in a covered courtyard to the front. Film Appreciation Society on first Monday each month, films at 4 and 7pm. Closed on Sundays and bank holidays except good friday.
