The Jolly Nailor is a traditional town centre pub with a range of real ales and a real cider. The interior is divided into three areas including a 'Music Room' at the back for live acts. Regular quizzes and and other events are hosted and the pub is a supporter of local sports teams.

The Letters is situated at the far west side of Atherton town centre on the main road. It started selling real ale again in 2015 and now has one beer on which changes on a weekly basis. It is a pleasant pub with seating areas around the bar and a pool room at the back. There are also benches in the yard behind the pub accessible via the door which leads to the ladies toilets. A real gem hidden down a narrow alley near the Market Place which reopened in November 2021 after being closed for months. The entrance, part of a conservatory, leads to an open plan bar that serves Moorhouse’s beers plus guests with sampler paddles available for all draught beers. The games area has a pool table and large screen TV. There is a well-kept patio-area at the back which is popular in summer. Close to town centre parking. Large selection of Belgian bottle beers.

Lively, interesting local which is popular with all ages. The main bar area is used for entertainment and has a large TV screen where football is shown. There are two separate rooms for darts and pool and there is a quieter room at the back which overlooks the car park and outside seating. This also has a conservatory which can be used for private functions.

Completely refurbished and restored to its original name a few years ago. The best original features have been kept together with the separate snug and pool/darts rooms. There is a large outdoor drinking area to the rear and usually a selection of three beers from local breweries which are competitively priced. All live sport is shown on multiple screens around the pub. Over 18's only.
