Scholars Bar

A warm, friendly atmosphere prevails at this town-centre pub at the rear of the main shopping centre voted as CAMRA runner up Town pub of the Year 2015. It has a large front bar and a games room. Five rotating guest beers, usually from Yorkshire microbreweries, are offered plus numerous ciders and perries. TV screens show major sporting events. Twenty eight pints are the prize at the Thursday quiz. May close earlier during winter months.
