A short walk north from the City centre this cosy, friendly community pub has two rooms, each divided into two areas. Up to 3 guest beers, some from local micros supplement the 3 permanent beers. Special celebrations for St Georges day are held usually with a mini festival. Access to the pub is via a cobbled yard, which serves as a heated, covered outdoor drinking area. The pub has a skittle alley that doubles as a function room. Snacks are only available at weekends but customers are welcome to bring in food from the sandwich shop next door. A mini beer and cider festival is also held in October.
