Cock Hotel
148 Holyhead Road, TelfordTF1 2DL
May 2021: Undergoing sympathetic restoration by Joules focused on enhancing the cosy snugs and corners and creating a community pub and celebrating the rich heritage of the Pub. More recent extensions have been removed to reveal more of the original 250 year old pub.
This multi-award winning 18th century grade II listed coaching inn offers a warm welcome and boasts a good reputation for quality beer; the main bar has eight handpulls for real ales. Taken over in 2018 by Joule's, four of these are dedicated to Joule's ales, including one for their seasonal ale. The other four handpulls include Hobson's Best plus three ever changing regional ales. They no longer sell real cider.
The "Brasserie De Haan" in a separate room, houses over 80 Belgian beers (both draught and bottled).
Award-winning pork pies are served from the bar at all times. There is a covered smoking area at the rear. Bed and breakfast accommodation and a meeting room are available.
