Large, modern pub which replaced the original Bass pub which was demolished in the 1990s. Now popular with diners, it gets a lot of passing trade due to its prime location on the main A570 road into Southport from Ormskirk. The Richmond is also popular with local amateur footballers as it opposite Meols Cop park where regular Sunday league football is played. It is also one of the nearest pubs to Southport Football Club.
