Halkett

A large town centre pub offers food and drink (real ale included) throughout the week but then changes into a venue bar on Friday and Saturday nights with 80's DJ music attracting the younger crowd (though they all know the words to the old songs!). In the town centre and very close to the market it is a popular spot for good value pub grub and a pint. Three bar areas and the TVs are at the back of the pub and show all sorts of things (not just sport). Seating and tables outside on a wide pavement for sunny days. November 2021 reports said that there was no real ale. It's not known if this is long term or not.
