Long-established locals' pub just outside the city centre recently refurbished to cater for a wider audience. The interior is stylish, largely with varnished floorboards, second hand wooden furniture and artworks on walls. Around the corner to the left as one enters is a more cosy area suggesting a domestic parlour. Apart from the Brains beers one guest real ale from another major brewery is usually available. Prices seem steep for the area.
