A typical country pub/restaurant which, while 'food led' (and a good reputation locally for quality and quantity), does welcome casual drinkers. Two-for-One special menu lunch offer Tuesday-Friday is good value and popular; booking advised. Internally, there are three smart linked rooms, mostly furnished for dining, around a central bar: at one end the Oak Room (former public bar) with its open fire, the large Garden Room at the other end, plus an (unnamed?) room in between.

An impressive family-run 300-year-old inn, close to the centre of the village, opposite St. Peter's church, and bedecked with attractive floral displays for much of the year. The pub features a smart L-shaped lounge, with beamed ceiling, primarily catering for diners, and a plainer public bar with pool table and wall-mounted TVs. Colourful murals with a classical theme enhance both the ladies and men's toilets! Home-cooked food with fresh vegetables (real chips!); Sunday lunch menu limited to traditional roasts. Ramblers are very welcome.
