Large and imposing Victorian frontage bearing the initials of the previous ownership gives way to a more contemporary interior with the original flooring now exposed again. Two warming real fires. Up to four real ales from independent brewers are available, often with an emphasis on local ales. Regular live bands, jam nights and karaoke feature. Wednesday nights host stand-up comedy, pub quiz or bingo, generally on a rotating basis. The games room includes a pool table. The pub actively supports local charities and good causes and is a former local CAMRA Community Pub of the Year.

The Bull’s Head is still a rambling 17th Century pub, converted from a row of ancient cottages. There are a good variety of rooms within, pool room, comfortable bar area and a couple of cosy snugs. At the rear is a modern function room and one of the few remaining crown greens. The Warrington Singers Club, founded in the late 1960’s, meet here every Sunday night from 8.30pm, with a chance to sing or play supplemented by special guest every few weeks. Identified by CAMRA as having a regionally important historic pub interior. Under temporary management July 2020.

A much improved image in recent years now sees the reputation of the home-cooked food especially popular. This long and narrow multi-room pub was originally called the Cross Keys and is next to the former St Mary's School, whose Victorian and older buildings still stand, and where Michael Hardman MBE, co-founder of CAMRA, began his education and played in the rugby league team that won the 1957 Warrington primary schools championship. This is a small, inviting pub opened out, but with some semi-secluded areas. It has an "Old World" style and is a listed building, although much of the interior has been changed over the last few years. It is situated between the rectory and the main church for Warrington, on a secluded, cobbled cul-de-sac off what used to be the main road to Manchester. Family-friendly with children are welcome until 9pm. All meals are freshly cooked and special requirements can often be catered for. A parking arrangement has been agreed with the Sainsburys store (across the road), give bar staff registration of car for free parking. There is a well-appointed Function Room available upstairs
