Royal Exchange

A one-roomed pub, refurbished sympathetically, to a high standard in 2015, with four distinct drinking areas and real fires at either end. Ten real ales are always available including four ever-changing guest ales. No TVs or piped music, just good conversation. There are acoustic music nights and many clubs including backgammon, knitting, gaming, reading and photography meet here. The “Royal” also manages the Stone Beer Festival. Light snacks available all day. Lunches 12-3pm Fri/Sat, the ingredients in the expanding food range are "totally locally". There is a set main course supper every first & third Monday of the month evening 6 - 8pm. There are monthly quiz nights.
Star Inn

An old canalside pub which retains two original, flag floored, small bars (dog friendly), these are separated from a more modern, food orientated lounge area and conservatory. An exterior plaque commemorates the pub's place in the Guiness 'Book of Records' for the most differing floor levels in a public house. The Spitfire sign refers to the pub's role in organising the purchase by the town of a Spitfire, named the Star of Stone, for the RAF during the war; look for a commemorative painting and the citation scroll in the pub. Outside tables on the canalside are popular in the summer. Guest ales from the Marston's seasonal offerings.

One of the few town centre pubs with a car-park, The Bridge is a friendly corner town local comprising a comfy bar and a double room lounge area with wood and stained glass panelling. It is close to the station and bus stops are only minutes away over the railway bridge and down the hill. Extensively refurbished August 2018. There is an extensive lunch and evening menu with pizzas being a speciality. The pub is also open for Sunday meals. Live music is frequently offered and there is a new outdoor seating area to the side of the car park.

Granvilles Brasserie was first established in 1984 as a small coffee house. Over 28 years Granvilles evolved and expanded to become one of the area's best known restaurants and music venues. After many months of closure it was purchased by a couple who had their first date in the bar and after refurbishment reopened as Granvilles Brasserie and Music Bar. It the past it has played host to the likes of George Melly, Ronnie Scott and China Crisis. Live bands every Friday & Saturday, open mic on Monday. Homemade gastropub food is served as well as sandwiches, cakes & coffee during the day. There is an extensive cocktail menu.
Talbot Inn

An old-fashioned pub just a few yards down from Stone station, and around 200m from the Trent & Mersey Canal. Two rooms at the front, one of which is dedicated to pool, the other being a comfy bar with a coal fire. To the rear is a large lounge with a darts board. TV screens in every room, largely dedicated to BT and Sky sport. Live music Sat nights, open-mike nights every fourth Sunday and a themed disco third Sunday in the month. For the future there are big plans for the pub including another three handpulls. There will always be a local beer and at least one micro brewery beer; aso there'll be “Talbot Ale” (brewed by Marstons). Bar snacks, Sunday roasts and popup themed food nights are available.

An old fashioned terrace corner pub with three separate rooms. The Pheasant is deceptively spacious inside. The front room is a pleasant, traditional public bar with a log burner and there are two larger rooms to the rear. The pub is a real community focus hosting numerous local activities as well as more traditional pub games including dominoes & crib. "The Phez" hosts a dozen or more community groups. Sport is popular here with TV screens both to the front and rear.

The building looks like a 1930s roadhouse, now a very good gastro-pub but with a decent size area to just sit and drink. Two regular beers and two guest beers, one usually from Titanic, the other often Black Sheep Bitter, Marston's Pedigree or Wells Bombadier. Food served 12 until 10.00pm every day.
Swan Inn

A thriving freehouse in a carefully renovated Grade II listed building, close to the Trent & Mersey Canal. There are nine hand-pumps; eight of which serve ever-changing beers. There's also real cider on draught and bottled varieties too. The pub comprises one long room, one end of which is carpeted. There are coal fires at each end of the room. The pub is dog-friendly. The Swan does not do food and is strictly adults-only at all times. To the rear is a large outside area which is partially covered. The Swan has been the local CAMRA pub-of-the-year and has won numerous other CAMRA awards. Discounts are available to CAMRA members. Its themed beer festival each July is a mecca for beer lovers, 2018 will be the 20th such festival. As to entertainment; The Swan hosts Stone's longest running pub quiz each Tuesday. There's live entertainment in the evening on Wednesday featuring acoustic acts and bands. There's also live music on Thursday and Saturday which varies, though often featuring rock, sometimes from national acts. Entrance is free to all music sessions.
