Featherbed
Earl's Park, Battlefield Business Park, Shrewsbury SY1 4AB
This large restaurant/pub was built in 2014 as part of Marston's Milestone Carvery brand. It's imaginatively set out with about 7 different areas, some secluded and some not (though it may just remind you of similar purpose-built edge of town Marston's establishments). The pub is located at what is now the busy northern end of town in between KFC and the Arriva bus depot, opposite Tesco and Park & Ride (overshadowed by a recently built showroom structure, such is the development in the area (Oct 2016)). Food is served until 10pm from the Main Menu, and the carvery is from 12 until 9pm daily. It has been very popular with diners since Day One, booking is recommended (some tables can be booked online).

Chez Sophie
10 Mardol Head, Shrewsbury SY1 1HD
Chez Sophie is a creperie, bar and cafe influenced by the Estaminets of Sophie's home region of Flanders France. and is unique in Shrewsbury. Certainly, one gets the feeling immediately on entering that there’s something foreign about it. Both downstairs and upstairs rooms have that welcoming rustic feel, with wooden tables, some comfy chairs (even some old French cinema seats) and a host of quirky nick-knacks scattered around. Although this is primarily a creperie, and a supplier of milkshakes, beer undoubtedly plays its part in the offering. The range is definitely unusual and thoughtfully created by co-owner Matt who is also an accredited Beer Sommelier. There are bottles – and some cans – from the whole spectrum of continental and other beers. Whilst these are not all bottle conditioned (i.e. real ale in a bottle) a great number of them are And what is refreshing about Sophies is that it’s a place to take the family and each can indulge in maybe a crepe, milkshake, soft drink or indeed a beer. So, lovers of the continental bar environment may well appreciate being here and linger longer. Opens Tuesdays as well during the summer holiday season
Bagley Sports & Social Club
16 Ellesmere Road, Greenfields, Shrewsbury SY1 2PJ
Built in 2010 to replace an older Railway Club which was nearer the main road and was demolished in 2007. Although still owned by the London Midland Railway Club Association, like most venues it is looking to broaden it's horizons to survive. CAMRA members are given a friendly welcome to peruse the offering, though if you become a regular visitor you will probably be requested to become a club member! Small comfortable bar with pictures & artefacts reflecting the main passions of the regulars and management; namely railways and Shrewsbury Town Football Club. Newly instigated Happy Hour (for club members) from 7-9pm Fri-Sat. There is a large adjoining function room, always available for hire at a suitable price. The two bowling greens outside are used by a number of teams covering a range of ages. Winner of the Shrewsbury & West Shropshire Club of the Year competition in 2017.

Raven Meadows, Shrewsbury SY1 1PD

Initially established as a men-only club, it was only as recently as the 1980s that women became equally welcome to attend. Club members have the use of four snooker tables. The attached restaurant, Churchill's, is open to the general public and serves breakfasts from 9am (Tue-Sat); for Sunday lunch, booking is highly recommended, as it is very popular with members.
Warehouse
5-6 Claremont Street, Shrewsbury SY1 1QG
New venue, opened in October 2017. Furnished in the American-diner style with raised alcoves, it is very much a restaurant during peak eating hours, but feels more like a bar during the other quieter times. Fairly cavernous space as befits an ex-Argos store, in the current industrial style, ie with exposed brickwork and air ducts. May close early on quieter midweek evenings.
