Long narrow independently-owned locals bar created by splitting a Turkish restaurant in half. Live music every Wednesday and 3am license. Bottled ales but no real ale.

A thriving gastropub which regularly seems to change its name. Usually 5 ales on offer, with a range of keg beers, including Siren Craft, and bottled foreign beers. Westons cider is available summertime only. Boards games group Wednesdays. Beer gardens on either side of the pub offer plenty of spots to enjoy fine weather.

Part of a small southern-based chain. A long bar opens out into a choice of seating areas with high or low tables. Food based around burgers, pizzas and similar. TV screens dominate and show Sky Sports and BT Sports. Level access to bar, seating and disabled toilet (other toilets upstairs). Taxis wait directly outside.

Refurbished in 2017 this a large Pizza and Carvery house that nonetheless acts as a popular bar. There's a Travel Lodge immediately behind it. Expect a large rugby/football crowd on match days. Karaoke Fri/Sat night. May close early on quiet evenings.

Previously a long-established gay pub attracting well-renowned cabaret acts on the circuit, The downstairs of the building is now a bar area with an open plan pizza kitchen. Upstairs is a lounge with an American-style Wurlitzer jukebox. Fans of US craft beer will find Lagunitas IPA on draft.

Large two storey chain bar housed in Reading's former main Post Office. Sky Sports and BT Sports on TV. Food served including Sunday roasts. The Loft Bar (second floor) can be hired for functions. Zerodegrees

Brewed on site, Zerodegrees makes an eclectic (and award-winning) range of both core and speciality beers. All of their core beers are made on site, with the brewhouse and other kit easily visible behind the bar and within the restaurant. Once a month the brewer will have on one or more of their own speciality beers, along with a couple from the other 3 locations (London, Bristol & Cardiff). All brewed-on-site beers are served unfiltered, unpasteurised, and cold, from serving tanks. Meanwhile the specialities from the other sites are served from keg. The beers are well paired with their award winning pizzas and fresh kilo pot of mussels which are served all day and evening. Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 4 to 7 PM (£3 pints for core beers - not in December).
