Ye Olde Crown is situated on the High Street in the town of Rayleigh and, having the best floral decoration in town, were chosen winners of Rayleigh in Bloom on numerous occasions.The building dates back to the mid 1600's when it used to be a Coaching House. Today it is an old fashioned pub in the sense that you can come here for a good drink and a chat and we have remained a traditional pub. There is always a great atmosphere here and it welcomes all with a real mix of ages and families coming during the daytime. Inside is very olde worlde with original exposed beams and other original features such as the windows. Good pub food can be chosen from the main menu with something to suit all tastes and ages complemented by a choice wine or one of up to 3 real ales if preferred.

The Rayleigh Lodge Ember Inn, previously known as Rayleigh Lodge & Dragon, is located in just outside the centre of Rayleigh. It re-opened after an extensive refurbishment and rebrand to Ember Inn at the end of April 2015. This impressive listed building used to be Henry VIII's hunting lodge in the 1500's and is red brick with a sweeping drive and gardens leading up from cast iron lampposts. It offers a seasonally changing table menu which includes a wide selection of dishes to suit everyones tastes included starters such as beer battered mushrooms to a mixed grill from the chargrill section. There are usually specials too alongwith a separate menu for the younger customers. Also look out for the Fizz Friday and Cask Ale Club when ale is from £2.49 a pint every Monday. The beer garden is also a lovely place in the warmer months. Quiz night on Wednesday nights
